The National Aviary, Pittsburgh, PA

On July 3rd we had a private group tour and lunchtime bird demonstration at The National Aviary to celebrate my grandfather's 85th birthday on July 4th.

Dave the tour guide explains his relationship with Elvis. The penguin exhibit was Did you you know that if humans eyes were as large as an owls, they would be the size of softballs?

Angie, don't look now, but that bird looks really hungry...oh wait...

....or maybe he has his eye on Dan?



How lucky were we to see the national bird and emblem of the USA on our country's birthday weekend. Happy Birthday USA!

Hyde Park Drive-In Theatre

The Hyde Park Drive-In Theatre is located in Hyde Park, NY, directly across the street from the FDR Library and Mansion. Although the price went up this year, it's still a bargain at $8 for two movies! The schedule is updated on their website on Friday mornings.

There's a long line on this particular Saturday night to see Iron Man 2.

If you want to get in, you'll have to get to the end of the line, which is somewhere in the distance down Rt. 9.

We got here early to claim our spot.
